Jobs
in the health care services industry are in greater demand than ever
before. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that, by the year 2010,
health services employment is projected to increase to 13,000,000.
That's over 2.8 million new jobs!
Job
opportunities abound for nursing aides and assistants in response to
an increasing emphasis on rehabilitation and the long-term care needs
of an increasing elderly population. In fact, the Department of Labor
projects that the increased demand for health care services, led by
the growing proportion of the elderly population, is expected to
continue for a full 50 years!
Modern
medical technology will also increase the employment of nursing aides,
because as technology saves and extends more lives, it increases the
need for long-term care.
