Workplace Readiness Workshop
The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter sponsored by Grand River Technical School hosted a Workplace Readiness workshop on Friday, February 23. Two hundred forty students, both high school and post-high, attended the workshop. In order to better prepare GRTS students for the workforce, two panels of area employers addressed issues such as work ethic, workplace behavior and attitude, employee theft, drug testing, etc. Panel members included David Critten (Landmark Manufacturing), David Copeland (Copeland Construction), Holly Boxley (Premium Standard Farms), Lisa Hecker and Jim Johnson (Hedrick Medical Center), Mike Sampsel (Barnes Baker Motors), Carol Gregg (Flexible Staffing), Bill Hayen (SkillPath Seminars), Terri Crane (Hy-Vee), Cathie Habiger (McDonald’s), and Chuck Erke (Green Hills Technology).
