PM Schedule: 12:45pm- 2:00pm

The SkillsUSA chapters at the Grand River Technical School will be hosting their 3rd annual “Mock Accident” event to stress the need for safety during this time of proms and graduation celebrations. In the interest of spreading the word about the dangers of driving while under the influence, representatives from the Chillicothe Police Department and members of Chillicothe’s Emergency Services Department will be enacting a mock accident where the victims will be extricated using Jaws of Life, triaged, and flown out via Life Net or Life Flight Eagle.

Following the mock accident, Chillicothe police officers will speak with students about the statistics and consequences of young people making bad decisions in the name of having fun and celebrating. Following the discussion, officers will allow students to wear specially designed goggles that simulate a person’s diminished ability to make effective decisions while under the influence.
