GRTS Scholarships

GRTS Director’s Scholarship – Scholarships in the amount of $1000 to high school seniors enrolling at GRTS. Selection based on citizenship and career goals with a minor emphasis on financial need. Application deadline to GRTS – April 15. Application available here or with your high school counselor.

Vocational Student Organization (VSO) Leadership Scholarship – Scholarship in the amount of $500 awarded to student or students enrolling at GRTS for post-secondary training. Must place first or second in skills competition at State VSO contest (such as VICA, FFA,FBLA,FCCLA). This scholarship is designed to reward students with strong technical skills.

GRTS Continuing Education Scholarship – Scholarship in the amount of $500 awarded to students enrolling at GRTS for post secondary training the year following graduation. Must be a vocational-technical school graduate who maintained at least a “B” average. One scholarship per vocational school awarded. (This scholarship cannot be combined with the GRTS Director’s Scholarship).

Robert and Helen Smith Memorial Scholarship – Scholarships up to $500 awarded in the second semester of post secondary training at GRTS. Must maintain at least a 95% attendance and “B” or above grade average in the first semester.

Paul Zachary Memorial Scholarship – One scholarship in the amount of $250 awarded to exemplary post secondary Carpentry student in memory of Paul Zachary, former Carpentry instructor. Awarded in the second semester based on first semester performance.

Phillip Hall Memorial Scholarship – Two scholarships in the amount of $500 awarded to exemplary post secondary Carpentry students in memory of Phillip Hall, former Carpentry student. Awarded in the second semester based on first semester performance.

GRTS Non-Traditional Student Scholarship – Scholarship in the amount of $1000 awarded to exemplary student or students who enroll at GRTS for post secondary training in a field that is non-traditional for their gender. (For example: a female student in the industrial maintenance field.) Application deadline to GRTS – April 15. Application available here or with your high school counselor. (This scholarship cannot be combined with the GRTS Director’s Scholarship).

Chillicothe Rotary Scholarship – Scholarship in the amount of $500 awarded to exemplary GRTS post secondary student who represents GRTS in the business community. Must maintain at least a 95% attendance and a “B” grade average. Scholarship is awarded in the second semester based on first semester performance.

GRTS Tech Prep Scholarship – Scholarship in the amount of $250 awarded to exemplary senior graduating from GRTS and continuing their post secondary training in their vocational field. (Scholarships are sponsored by area businesses.)

Duckworth Technology Scholarship – GRTS will award up to four scholarships in the amount of $500 to exemplary senior graduating from Grand River Technical School Computer Service Technology program and continuing their education at GRTS in the Computer/Networking program or Industrial Maintenance.

William (Matt) McCarthy Memorial Scholarship - $500 scholarship awarded to a post high student entering the automotive services technology program. Priority given to students who are veterans or a descendant of a veteran. May be awarded in the spring or fall.

American Legion Vern R. Glick Post # 25 Memorial Scholarship - $500 scholarship awarded to a post high student enrolled in a GRTS program. Priority given to students who are veterans or a descendant of a veteran. Will be awarded in the fall. Applications available in GRTS Counselor’s office.
