AREA HIGH SCHOOL
AND GRTS STUDENTS |
| An A+ stamp will be put on your final high school transcript. When you have completed your financial aid application and the vocational school or community college receives your final transcript, your tuition will be paid. |
| Application must be made for the "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" (FAFSA). This can be done on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. |
A+ money may also be used for:

| Students must take a minimum of 12 credit hours in a regular semester session. |
| A+ funds may be used for a maximum of 61 credit hours. |
| A+ funds must be completed within 4 years following high school graduation. |
| Students must maintain a 2.5 grade point average. |

| Students earning a "B" GPA and having 90% attendance can earn free college
credit that will transfer to the community colleges listed below. This credit will apply
to an Associate of Applied Science Degree. Students must begin using articulated credit
within 15 months of graduation. The Associate of Applied Science Degree earned with credit from the GRTS will transfer to the Bachelor of Technology Degree at Northwest Missouri State University. Students earning a 3.3 GPA at a community college can earn a half tuition scholarship to Northwest Missouri State University. Students with a 3.5 GPA at a community college can compete for one of eight full tuition transfer scholarships at NW Missouri State University.

| Use the Tech Prep certificate within 15 months of graduation. |
| Complete 12 hours of credit at NCMC (6 hours must be in the related program area. |
| Earn a 2.0 grade point average in those 12 hours. |
| Take the "Tech Prep Certificate" to the Student Services office at NCMC and complete Form 3A, the Application for College Credit. |
| After you have completed Form 3A, you will be awarded the "free" college credit hours you earned at the Grand River Technical School. |

| This certificate, provided by the State Department of Education, will be issued to graduating seniors who have an 8.0 GPA, 21 ACT score and have completed a high school program, which includes at least the following: |

| Earn at least an 8.0 grade point average (GPA), on 11-point scale, in the combined subject areas of English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. |
| Score above the national average on The American College Test (ACT) or above the national average on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). |
| Students interested in this certificate should plan their High School program carefully and discuss it with their parents and counselor. |

ADVANCED ACADEMIC STUDIES CERTIFICATE Take 12 semesters of advanced courses or dual-credit courses with at least 8 of those semesters from each of the core subject areas of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Receive a grade of at least a "B-" in each of the dual-credit courses taken. Sign an AASC "Intent to Complete" form during the enrollment of the sophomore year. It is not necessary for a student to take the classes for college credit to be eligible for the certificate, only that they take and complete the classes and maintain a "B" grade in each of the classes.
