Congratulations to Brody Hollifield, Michael Head, Landon Winder, Jkya White, Aidan White, Morgan Kincade, Andrew Johnson, and Jesse Cairns, they are the R.A.K.E. award winners for the past few days. They were identified as doing the following -
Brody Hollifield - While a teacher was carrying out a heavy box for the Homecoming concession stand to my car after school, Brody Hollifield immediately came over to me and offered to carry it to my car for me. It made my day!
Michael Head - took down the chairs in my classroom during 1st hour without being asked before the class started.
Landon Winder - Held the front door open this morning for 3 teachers and a few other students.
Jkya White - Without being asked, Jkya helped a group of students put away their dishes at the end of the food lab who were running behind. The group was very appreciative of her help so they could get out of class on time!
Aidan White - Aidan stayed after class 8th hour and put up chairs without being asked.
Morgan Kincade - A student spilled water on the hallway floor by accident at the bottle filler, and he felt really bad about it. She reassured him it was an accident and just water and easy to clean up.
Jesse Cairns - He held the door open for everyone coming in and out of PAC doorway today for the fire drill.
Andrew Johnson - Held the front door open as someone was entering with a giant crock pot of chili.
If you see any of these individuals, feel free to congratulate them for showing high character while at CHS.

Attention senior students/parents/guardians. Chillicothe High School will be hosting a "FAFSA Frenzy" event on October 12th at 6 p.m. in the CHS Library. FAFSA stands for "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" and is a form to apply for financial aid for college students. Please contact one of our counselors, Mrs. Tipton or Mrs. Baker, with questions. Hope to see you there!


Congratulations to Russell Mouton and Faith Parrack-Renfro as they both brought home multiple medals from their Special Olympics competition Friday in Carrolton. Faith medaled in the 25m Wheelchair Race, 10m Unassisted Walk, and the Softball Throw. Russell medaled in the 25m Wheelchair Race and the Softball Throw. Way to go!



Attention junior and senior students/parents/guardians. Chillicothe High School will be hosting a College Fair this Thursday, October 6th from 6:30-8 p.m. in the the CHS commons. There are nearly 40 colleges/military organizations planning to attend. We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to the Chillicothe football team with a 29-20 win over #2 state ranked St. Pius X!



Thanks to BTC Bank for providing a tailgate food special at the main entrance of Jerry Litton Stadium for Homecoming 2022 and enhancing the overall fan experience. The tailgate special raised over $2300 and all proceeds went to the junior class who runs the home football game concession stands annually.

CHS softball for this evening at Benton has been postponed to October 5 due to rain and wet infield conditions in St. Joe>

Congratulations to Kirsten Dunn, Charlie Reeter, Ivan Dickerson & Cami Carpenter, Michael Weese, Heidi Gault, Landon Thompson, Will Gauthier & Carla Branson & Alex Wilson & Gabe Minnick, Devyn Tolle & Gideon Robison, they are the R.A.K.E. award winners for the past few days. They were identified as doing the following -
Kirsten Dunn - I was slowly taking equipment to the field for practice and Kirsten hurried over and took the equipment from me and took it to the field.
Charlie Reeter -Charlie noticed my fish tank getting dirty as I have been too busy to clean it. He offered and has come in on his own time to scrub on it for me. How kind!
Ivan Dickerson & Cami Carpenter -Ivan and Cami found a melting popsicle on the floor. Cami used paper towels to clean it up while Ivan went and got the pop and bucket to finish cleaning.
Michael Weese -The bell rang to dismiss for the weekend and everyone left. Michael put up his chair and then looked around and saw no one else did. He went around and put up all the chairs without being asked. I was very grateful.
Heidi Gault -Helped move and unload traffic cones to the loading dock at Chillicothe High School after the Homecoming football game.
Landon Thompson - Landon offered to help carry in groceries and then helped put them away in the Foods classroom.
Will Gauthier & Carla Branson & Alex Wilson & Gideon Robison & Devyn Tolle -I would like to give a Huge shout-out to Will Gauthier, Carla Branson, Alex Wilson, Devyn Tolle, and Gideon Robinson for cleaning up the school grounds before Homecoming. They did a great job.
A big thank you to all staff who continue to identify the positive in our students showing good character. If you see any of these individuals, congratulate them for showing high character.

Chillicothe student wins rootEd Undergraduate Scholarship
Chillicothe High School is proud to recognize Anderson De Jesus, Class of 2022.
Anderson is currently attending the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Anderson is a recipient of The rootEd Undergraduate Scholarship for 2022. This
scholarship is dedicated to improving postsecondary education opportunities for
high school seniors from selected communities in rural Missouri. This renewable
scholarship, up to $12,000 annually, may be used at an accredited, nonprofit four-
year college or university.
In fall 2021, rootEd Missouri, in partnership with the Missouri Department of
Elementary and Secondary Education, launched the Missouri Postsecondary
Advising Initiative. The three-year initiative provides select rural high schools
with federal funding to hire college and career advisors to work alongside
counselors to help students plan for success after high school. Mrs. Cindy Baker
is the rootEd Advisor for Chillicothe High School.
