Blake and Bryce took the time to help a teacher with a project and prepare for the MEC Fine Arts Festival Art Show.



Class of 2026 Freshman Enrollment Information:
We are so excited for Freshman Enrollment tonight at 6 in the CHS Commons! Please come ready to determine what classes you will be taking next year. We will walk you through the process and talk about the opportunity the A+ scholarship offers as well. I am hopeful it will only take approximately an hour.
If you were planning on coming Thursday, March 10th, we have decided to move enrollment that night to Wednesday, March 9th due to the impending weather forecast.
To briefly summarize, Freshman Enrollment Nights are now:

Congratulations to the 41 students inducted into the National Honor Society at Chillicothe High School this evening!



Congratulations to Chillicothe High School student Delanie Montes for receiving the People's Choice Award for her artwork at the first-ever MEC Conference Fine Arts Festival on Saturday hosted in Chillicothe.


The National Honor Society induction at Chillicothe High School will go on as scheduled this evening, Monday, March 7, at the performing arts center at 6:30 pm.


The Chillicothe R-II School District and Chillicothe High School will not be in session on Monday, March 7 due to the snow that has fallen.

CHS Key Club is gearing up for prom season! They have organized their Cinderella's closet and it is ready for the perfect fit! Sizes 0-18 available as well as some shoes and accessories! Key Clubbers also are making rounds to pick up donations for the After Prom party held in the high school commons. All donations from snacks to cash and prizes are welcome. Please call the High School Office at 646-0700 to arrange drop-off or pickup.

Whitney Trump, representing North Central Missouri College Foundation, presented the Jack N. Young, Mildred M. Young, Noble J. Young and Myra A. Young Dual Credit Scholarship to Chillicothe High School junior Keegan Peterson in the amount of $324.00.

Saturday marks the first ever Midland Empire Conference Fine Arts Festival and it will be hosted in the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center right here at CHS! It runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and admission is FREE! Check out the flyer for more information.


Congratulations to Ruger Cox and Bryce Dominique, they are the R.A.K.E. award winners for the past few school days. They were identified doing the following;
Ruger Cox and Bryce Dominque - Ther were in the commons when they noticed the food vending machine was left open and unsecured. A rep from Midwest vending was here earlier filling the machine but evidently did not completely shut or lock the machine. While under guard from Bryce, Ruger was able to shut and secure the machine to make sure no one was able to steal any valuable merchandise.

Jaden Funk - He saw a student in immediate need and jumped right in to help.
Kayla Cakranata and Caden Kaniannen - I accidentally bumped into a table containing cups of beans that we had used for a science activity. I spilled at LEAST 1000 dried beans all over my desk and floor. While I was helping another student with their lab graphs, Kayla and Caden picked them all up for me without being asked.

Boys district basketball at home at 2:00 pm vs. Savannah today!

The Chillicothe R-II School District will operate on a two-hour delay, Friday, February 25, due to slick road conditions. Classes will begin at 9:55 am at Chillicothe High School. Stay safe Hornets!

The CHS Celebrity Band Concert will be this evening at 7:00 pm in the PAC. This event was rescheduled from last Thursday due to snow.

Conference Championship Basketball!
The Chillicothe High School basketball teams will be playing Maryville at home on Thursday night. The varsity girls game will begin at 6:00 pm with the varsity boys game to follow. The boys will be playing for a share of the MEC conference title. If you are looking for something to do on Thursday evening, come out and support the hornets vs. Maryville at the CHS gym.
