***CMS HORNETS TRACK AND FIELD SCHEDULE UPDATE*** Due to Brookfield's track construction not being completed, they are not having their meet on April 8. HOWEVER, we will replace that meet with an April 8 trip to Trenton (details will be made available asap). The Hornets had a great night at Cameron last night! A brief synopsis from Coach Coult: The Chillicothe Middle School track team went to Cameron last night. The Hornets had a great outing scoring a first place finish for both the 7th grade girls and boys division, and 2nd place overall for both the boys and girls 8th grade teams. Being a bigger meet (10 teams) This is an amazing start to the Hornet’s season. The Hornets did well in many different events but did extremely well in their field events nabbing multiple 1-3 place finishes. The highlight of the night though, was the Chillicothe 4x4 teams all finishing strong at the end of the meet. It was late and cold but all the Hornets finished one of the toughest races in either 1st or 2nd place, making a late cold night much more bearable. The Hornets would like to thank the bus drivers and parents for being helpful and staying with us during the late night hours and the cold, we appreciate it.

Our CMS home track meet for 4/20 is going to have to be moved, there is a home varsity soccer match that day. Due to rain, there will be no CMS track practice tomorrow, Monday, March 15th!

We are CANCELING our track meet on 4/6, due to it being during spring break. HOWEVER, we will find another track meet to compensate.

PARENTS OF CMS ATHLETES: Your child will be bringing home MSHSAA paperwork that will be completed by you, so that you can send back with your child to complete physical exams. That paperwork needs to be returned to CMS THIS FRIDAY, March 5. **please be sure to complete the insurance portion** Physical are once again FREE, and will be done at CMS this year. The dates for physicals are TUESDAY, March 9, and WEDNESDAY March 10.

Congrats to the 7th grade Scholar Bowl team with their victory over Cameron last night! The 8th grade performed well in a tough loss also... The Hornets will be back in action with two home matches next week: Tuesday vs. Polo & Thursday vs. Marceline

Chillicothe R-2 School District will not be in session on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, due to road conditions and extreme wind chills. We will be implementing an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Day so that you may learn at home. Please log into your Google Classroom to check out your assignments. Teachers will have all assignments posted for the day by 8:30 a.m. As a reminder, the Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Day provides the opportunity for you to be engaged in learning at home that counts toward your attendance for the day.
