Congratulations to Jackson Reeter and Isaac Mix, they are the R.A.K.E. award winners for the past few days. They were identified as doing the following;
Jackson Reeter - Jackson noticed a unique piece of plastic laying on the floor in my room. Instead of ignoring it or kicking it into a corner, he handed it to me thinking it might be a part of a student's wheelchair, which it was! I was able to return the piece to the student's wheelchair thanks to Jackson's thoughtfulness.
Isaac Mix - He found another student's ID and car keys and turned it in.

SUB SPOTLIGHT
Ms. Casandra Leach is one of our awesome substitute teachers here at Chillicothe R-II Schools! Last year, she subbed strictly at the high school because that's where she felt she could help the students the most, and also because she enjoys working with the older students. She also noted that as a college student, working at the high school is also great because there is some down time when she can work on her assignments for school. This year, she has started subbing at the other schools around the District and says she has been at Dewey School quite often. She reports that she has really enjoyed being there and getting to know the students and their personalities.
Casandra is a 2020 Chillicothe High School graduate, currently attending Central Methodist University in pursuit of a teaching degree in Secondary English. She says she loves working as a substitute teacher in Chillicothe primarily because of the staff at the schools. "The staff at all the schools are awesome and help out with any questions. They are very accommodating of placing you in classrooms that you are most comfortable with."
We asked Casandra what she would say to anyone thinking about working as a substitute teacher within Chillicothe R-II Schools and this is what she said: “I would recommend being a substitute teacher to anyone! I chose to be a substitute while in college because I am planning to be a teacher and thought it would be a good experience. It's a great job for anyone who enjoys working with people and is looking for a flexible job!"
Anyone interested in working as a substitute teacher here at Chillicothe R-II Schools may qualify for a Substitute Certificate in three ways:
Completion of a minimum of 36 semester hours of credit from a regionally accredited, academic degree-granting, college or university.
Completion of 20 hours of online training (cost is $180)
Hold a Missouri teaching certificate.
