Week 3 Reflection from Mrs. Dush:
Honestly I’ve lost track... time seems to be standing still. I just keep going through the motions. I’m losing track of what month... week... day it is. It’s easy to focus on the negatives. But sitting outside on my front porch this week, soaking in some sunlight, I was reminded that there are good things still happening.
In a world that is constantly telling me ”Don’t do this!”, I’m going to focus on what I can do. So... I’m going to hug my kids a little harder today. I’m going to intentionally reach out and try to make someone smile each day. Just like the spring flowers around my front porch that are breaking through the cold ground from a long winter, I’m going to choose to find the light.

Today's Spring Fever Reliever Challenge is "Mile Monday"!!!! Take some time to get some exercise! Walk, bike, jog . . . just get moving! Make sure you post to your favorite social media with #hornetsr2 or tag us on Twitter @HornetsCHS! #milemarkers #milemonday #socialdistancing

The election must go on! Our student council members have become creative in how they campaigned and ran an election while completely following the social distancing rule. The officer candidates prepared speech videos which all member of student council saw prior to the Town Hall Meeting on Zoom. Members joined on Zoom to hear the candidates answer questions given by the moderator Callaway Chapman. The students then voted using Google forms for their new officers for next year. #hornetsr2

Week 2 Teacher Reflection from Mrs. Kennebeck:
“My teacher reflection is it is really really hard to be a special education teacher via telephone or email. But not giving up and hoping our students aren't giving up either...sending emails all day with simpler, easier to read directions and calling kids to check on them to see if they need help. Watching all classroom videos and lesson plans that I have access to so I can take notes and help a student better understand the content. Emailing teachers to work with them on goals. Sometimes that is an all day endeavor.....Keeping the lines of communication open is a must in our situation. We will endure!!”

Week 2 Reflection from Mrs. Tipton:
“Classroom presentations for enrollment are easier than digital presentations. Recording my voice on slides is no fun, but it works! I would much rather see student faces instead of talk to a screen! As I was wrapping up today, however, I was reminded about the Grit to Great assembly we had a few weeks before school was dismissed. Wow...we have so many students that are showing ‘grit’ right now. When this is over, I know they will be able to say, ‘It was hard, but I didn’t give up!’ I’m so proud to be part of CHS!” #hornetsr2 #grittogreat #yesyoucan
