Collision Technology is a program that is open to all high school graduates or equivalent, or to juniors and seniors of our sending schools. Those who are juniors and seniors will attend class three hours daily for two years to receive a full certificate. Post-High students will attend six and three-quarter hours per day for nine months to complete the program's 1080 hours of instruction.

This program at Grand River Technical School is just the place for you to express your creativity, follow your dreams, and train for a great career in collision repair and refinishing.

You will learn the basics of bodywork on a variety of makes and models of vehicles.  From body construction and frame alignment to welding and mechanical/electrical repair to refinishing, you will master the skills you need to repair collision damage on today’s complex automobiles.

Our Collision Technology program can give you the highly specialized education that body shops and dealerships are looking for today.

The Bureau of Labor and Statistics reports that as of May 2021, the nation’s median wage for skilled Autobody Technicians was $47,270 or $22.61/hour on average.
